Dengbejleri dinleyerek uykuya dalar ve her<br \/>\ngece r\u00fcyas\u0131nda hep ayn\u0131 \u015feyi g\u00f6r\u00fcrd\u00fc. O da bir dengbej olmu\u015ftu ve Dengbej<br \/>\nDivan\u0131nda s\u00f6yl\u00fcyordu. Ne kadar da \u00e7ok seviniyordu r\u00fcyalar\u0131na. Sanki ger\u00e7ekten<br \/>\nde dengbej divan\u0131nda s\u00f6ylemi\u015f gibi hissediyordu. Oysa O, ses ve s\u00f6ylemin yayg\u0131n<br \/>\noldu\u011fu co\u011frafyada kad\u0131nlar\u0131n divana \u00e7\u0131kmas\u0131n\u0131n yasak oldu\u011funu \u00e7ok iyi<br \/>\nbiliyordu. B\u0131rak\u0131n divana \u00e7\u0131kmak, dinlemek bile \u00e7ok g\u00f6r\u00fcl\u00fcyordu onlara. Buna<br \/>\nra\u011fmen kendisine sorulan her soruda \u0131srarla, \u201cBen bir g\u00fcn Dengbej Divan\u0131\u2019nda<br \/>\ns\u00f6yleyece\u011fim  demeyi b\u0131rakm\u0131yordu.<\/p>\n<p class=\" \">Sonra bir g\u00f6\u00e7ten bahsedilmeye ba\u015fland\u0131 civarda. Kulak<br \/>\nmisafiri olurken, s\u00f6ylenenlere anlam vermeye \u00e7al\u0131\u015f\u0131yordu.<\/p>\n<p class=\" \">Ermeni Katliam\u0131n\u0131n ba\u015flamas\u0131yla birlikte ya\u015fan\u0131lan co\u011frafya<br \/>\ndaha da karma\u015f\u0131k bir hal alm\u0131\u015ft\u0131. K\u00fcrtler bir \u00e7ok yerde isyan ba\u015flatm\u0131\u015ft\u0131. Bu<br \/>\nisyanlar en a\u011f\u0131r \u015fekilde bast\u0131r\u0131l\u0131yor, halk\u0131n bir\u00e7o\u011fu zorunlu g\u00f6\u00e7e maruz<br \/>\nb\u0131rak\u0131l\u0131yordu. \u0130\u015fte b\u00f6yle bir d\u00f6nemde Dargul\u00ea K\u00f6y\u00fc de yolakoyulanlardan<br \/>\nolmu\u015ftu. Meryem de ailesi ile birlikte g\u00f6\u00e7etti. Topraklar\u0131ndan ayr\u0131l\u0131\u015f,<br \/>\n\u00e7ocuklu\u011fundan kopu\u015f gibi geliyordu ona. O g\u00fcnden sonra ne varsa \u00f6zleme, \u00fclkeye,<br \/>\ns\u0131laya dair, y\u00fcre\u011fine kaz\u0131d\u0131 Meryem. Ve de sesine\u2026Baz\u0131 kaynaklara g\u00f6re \u00f6nce Diyarbak\u0131r&#8217;a<br \/>\nyerle\u015fir, kimilerine g\u00f6re ise Musul&#8217;a.<\/p>\n<p class=\" \">Meryem, art\u0131k gen\u00e7 bir kad\u0131nd\u0131. G\u00fczelli\u011fiyle, albeniyle,<br \/>\nsesiyle, ya\u015farken efsane bir kad\u0131n. Bir g\u00fcn Meryem, Musul\u2019da ya\u015fayan ve kendisi<br \/>\ngibi s\u00fcrg\u00fcn nedeniyle yerinden olmu\u015f Mehmet Bedirxan ile tan\u0131\u015f\u0131r. Memet<br \/>\nBedirxan, onu ilkg\u00f6rd\u00fc\u011f\u00fc mekanda s\u00f6yledi\u011fi strana hayran kalm\u0131\u015f ve Meryem Xan\u2019a<br \/>\ng\u00f6n\u00fcl vermi\u015fti. Meryem ise, kendisine kar\u015f\u0131 geli\u015fen bu ilgiyi hemen anlam\u0131\u015f ve<br \/>\no da Mehmet Bedirxan\u2019a ilk tan\u0131\u015ft\u0131klar\u0131 andan itibaren a\u015f\u0131k olmu\u015ftu. Meryem ve<br \/>\nMehmet, k\u0131sa bir s\u00fcre sonra da evlenmeye karar verirler. A\u015fklar\u0131 bir s\u00fcreye<br \/>\nkadar etrafta s\u0131k s\u0131k konu olan bu \u00e7iftin mutlulu\u011fu uzun s\u00fcrmez.<\/p>\n<p class=\" \">Mehmet Bedirxan, Meryem Xan&#8217;\u0131n ba\u015fka insanlar\u0131n kar\u015f\u0131s\u0131nda<br \/>\n\u015fark\u0131 s\u00f6yleyip, dikkatleri \u00fczerine \u00e7ekmesini kabul etmedi. \u201cKoskoca Bedirxanlar\u0131n<br \/>\ngelini, herkesin \u00f6n\u00fcnde \u015fark\u0131 s\u00f6yl\u00fcyor  dedirtemezdi. Sonu\u00e7ta o bir kad\u0131nd\u0131.<br \/>\nSesi de ay\u0131pt\u0131. Ailesinin ve geleneklerin \u00f6ne s\u00fcrd\u00fc\u011f\u00fc bu tart\u0131\u015fmalar her ge\u00e7en<br \/>\ng\u00fcn daha \u015fiddetli bir boyuta ula\u015ft\u0131. Kabul edemiyordu Meryem Xan, bir k\u00f6\u015fede,<br \/>\nhayallerinden uzak ya\u015fayamayacakt\u0131. Ancak, Mehmet Bedirxan karar\u0131n\u0131 vermi\u015ftir.<br \/>\nBir g\u00fcn son s\u00f6z\u00fcn\u00fc bir soruyla sorar Meryem Xan\u2019a: \u201cYa a\u015f\u0131k oldu\u011funu s\u00f6yledi\u011fin<br \/>\nben, ya da sanat  Meryem Xan \u015fa\u015f\u0131rm\u0131\u015ft\u0131r. Ne korkun\u00e7 bir tercih zorunlulu\u011fudur<br \/>\nbu. Bir yanda s\u00f6ylemekten b\u0131kmad\u0131\u011f\u0131 \u015fark\u0131lar\u0131, di\u011fer yanda ise a\u015f\u0131k oldu\u011fu,<br \/>\ng\u00f6zlerine bakt\u0131\u011f\u0131nda ona kimsenin yazamad\u0131\u011f\u0131 \u015fark\u0131lar\u0131 yazd\u0131ran e\u015fi. \u0130kisinden<br \/>\nde ayr\u0131lmak istemedi\u011fini s\u00f6yledi. Ancak e\u015fi bu durumu kabul etmeyerek Meryem<br \/>\nXan\u2019 dan ayr\u0131ld\u0131.<\/p>\n<p class=\" \">Meryem Xan hen\u00fcz 20 ya\u015f\u0131ndayken e\u015finden ayr\u0131lm\u0131\u015ft\u0131. Uzun bir<br \/>\ns\u00fcre divana \u00e7\u0131kmad\u0131, O. Sadece a\u011flad\u0131\u011f\u0131 yay\u0131ld\u0131 dilden dile\u2026<\/p>\n<p class=\" \">Ayn\u0131 d\u00f6nemde \u0130ngiliz m\u00fczik \u015firketlerinin, Ba\u011fdat\u2019ta K\u00fcrt\u00e7e,<br \/>\nArap\u00e7a, Fars\u00e7a, Ermenice ve Suryanice \u015fark\u0131lar\u0131 kaydedip, Ortado\u011fu\u2019da<br \/>\nda\u011f\u0131t\u0131m\u0131n\u0131 yapt\u0131\u011f\u0131 s\u00f6ylendi. Bunu duyan Meryem Xan da Ba\u011fdat\u2019a gitmeye karar<br \/>\nverdi. O kadar \u00e7ok ki\u015fi vard\u0131 ki sesini kayda ald\u0131rmak isteyen, Meryem bu kadar<br \/>\nki\u015fi aras\u0131ndan sesinin duyulup, duyulmama ihtimalini bile hesaba katmad\u0131. Ancak<br \/>\nistedi\u011fi anda da gidemedi Ba\u011fdat\u2019a. 1924 y\u0131l\u0131nda gitti\u011fi Zaxo&#8217;da 12 y\u0131l kald\u0131.<br \/>\nBo\u015fanmak ay\u0131p g\u00f6r\u00fcld\u00fc\u011f\u00fc i\u00e7in, sesine hayranl\u0131k duyan ve yan\u0131nda kald\u0131\u011f\u0131 Yusif<br \/>\n\u015eemd\u00een Axa, onu civardan kimseyle tan\u0131\u015ft\u0131rmad\u0131. Eve kapand\u0131 Meryem Xan. Buna<br \/>\nra\u011fmen halk i\u00e7indeki sayg\u0131nl\u0131\u011f\u0131 hi\u00e7bir zaman azalmad\u0131. Ac\u0131s\u0131n\u0131 i\u00e7ine ve<br \/>\n\u015fark\u0131lar\u0131na ak\u0131tt\u0131 Meryem Xan. S\u00fcrg\u00fcn edildi\u011fi D\u00eargul\u00ea, kendini anlamayan e\u015fi<br \/>\ni\u00e7in yakt\u0131 t\u00fcrk\u00fclerini. Stran\u0131n\u0131 s\u00f6ylerken, her zaman bir g\u00fcn sesinin kayda<br \/>\nal\u0131naca\u011f\u0131n\u0131 d\u00fc\u015f\u00fcnd\u00fc. Ve 1936 y\u0131l\u0131nda Ba\u011fdat&#8217;a gitti. Orada amcas\u0131n\u0131n k\u0131z\u0131 Elmas<br \/>\nXan&#8217;\u0131n (1874-1974) evine yerle\u015fti. Elmas Xan&#8217;\u0131n evi o d\u00f6nem sanat\u00e7\u0131, siyaset\u00e7i,<br \/>\nayd\u0131nlar\u0131n u\u011frak yeriydi. Evi bir okul niteli\u011findeydi Elmas Xan&#8217;\u0131n. M\u00fczi\u011fin<br \/>\notoriteleri, bu evde sanat\u00e7\u0131lar\u0131 dinler ve g\u00f6r\u00fc\u015flerini aktar\u0131rd\u0131. Elmas Xan&#8217;\u0131n<br \/>\ne\u015fi de varl\u0131kl\u0131 bir \u0130ngiliz&#8217;di.<\/p>\n<p class=\" \">Meryem Xan, Elmas Xan&#8217;\u0131n evinde Mihemed Ar\u00eef Cizraw\u00ee, Hasan<br \/>\nCizraw\u00ee, Nesr\u00een \u015eerwan (\u015eirnaq\u00ee), Al\u00ee Merdan, Tah\u00eer Tofik, Sa\u00eed Axay\u00ee Ciz\u00eer\u00ee,<br \/>\nFewz\u00eey\u00ea Mihemed ve bir\u00e7ok ki\u015fiyle tan\u0131\u015ft\u0131. Ve birg\u00fcn onlar\u0131n yan\u0131nda s\u00f6ylemeye<br \/>\nba\u015flad\u0131. Onu dinleyen ve K\u00fcrt halk\u0131n\u0131n y\u00fcre\u011finde yer etmi\u015f sanat\u00e7\u0131lar, Meryem<br \/>\nXan\u2019 \u0131n sesinden ve s\u00f6yledi\u011fi \u015fark\u0131lar\u0131n de\u011feri kar\u015f\u0131s\u0131nda olduk\u00e7a \u015fa\u015f\u0131rd\u0131lar<br \/>\nve ona b\u00fcy\u00fck bir sayg\u0131 duydular. Her zaman tahmin etti\u011fi gibi, k\u0131sa s\u00fcrede<br \/>\nBa\u011fdat\u2019da tan\u0131nan ve sevilen bir dengbej haline geldi. Elmas Xan&#8217;\u0131n evinden<br \/>\nayr\u0131larak, Bab El\u015ferq\u00ee mahallesinde bir ev kiralad\u0131.<\/p>\n<p class=\" \">O d\u00f6nem Beyzafon, Ebolkelp ve \u00dbdyon isminde \u0130ngiliz<br \/>\n\u015firketleri Ba\u011fdat&#8217;ta \u015fark\u0131 kaydetmeye devam etmekteydi. Meryem Xan da k\u0131sa sure<br \/>\ni\u00e7inde m\u00fczik \u015firketleri ile ili\u015fkilendi. B\u00f6ylece ilk pla\u011f\u0131n\u0131 \u00e7\u0131kartt\u0131. Her<br \/>\npla\u011fa bir \u015fark\u0131 kaydediliyordu. Meryem Xan, Kurmanci sanat\u00e7\u0131lardan plak \u00e7\u0131karan<br \/>\nilk kad\u0131n ses sanat\u00e7\u0131s\u0131 olmu\u015ftu.<\/p>\n<p class=\" \">Plaklar birbiri ard\u0131na gelirken, onun daha fazla halka<br \/>\nula\u015fmas\u0131nda ayr\u0131 bir yeri olan Ba\u011fdat Radyosu a\u00e7\u0131ld\u0131. Y\u0131l 1939\u2019du. Ayn\u0131 y\u0131l<br \/>\nBa\u011fdat Radyosu taraf\u0131ndan kadrolu sanat\u00e7\u0131 bulmak amac\u0131 ile ses yar\u0131\u015fmas\u0131<br \/>\nd\u00fczenlendi. Meryem Xan\u2019\u0131n da ba\u015fvuruda bulundu\u011fu bu yar\u0131\u015fmaya, \u00e7ok say\u0131da \u00fcnl\u00fc<br \/>\nsanat\u00e7\u0131 da kat\u0131ld\u0131. Yar\u0131\u015fma sonucu a\u00e7\u0131kland\u0131\u011f\u0131nda ise Meryem Xan, tarifsiz bir<br \/>\nmutluluk ya\u015fad\u0131. \u00c7\u00fcnk\u00fc o, yar\u0131\u015fman\u0131n birincisi olmu\u015ftu. \u015eark\u0131lar\u0131n\u0131 s\u00f6ylerken<br \/>\nbunu t\u00fcm bedeni ve ruhuyla hissetmesi ve hissettirmesiydi O\u2019 nu birinci yapan.<br \/>\nVe radyonun kadrolu sanat\u00e7\u0131s\u0131 oldu. Meryem Xan, radyoya girdikten sonra<br \/>\n\u015fark\u0131lar\u0131 toplamaya devam etti. Halk aras\u0131nda s\u00f6ylenen \u015fark\u0131lar\u0131 Ba\u011fdat<br \/>\nradyosunda yay\u0131nlatt\u0131. 200&#8217;\u00fcn \u00fczerinde \u015fark\u0131y\u0131 da kendi s\u00f6yledi.<\/p>\n<p class=\" \">Sanat ya\u015fam\u0131nda ad\u0131 dilden dile yay\u0131lan bir kad\u0131n olmu\u015ftu<br \/>\nMeryem Xan. Ancak ayr\u0131lmak zorunda kald\u0131\u011f\u0131 a\u015fk\u0131, onun i\u00e7indeki en b\u00fcy\u00fck s\u0131z\u0131<br \/>\nolmay\u0131 b\u0131rakmam\u0131\u015ft\u0131. \u00d6lene dek bir daha sevmemeye s\u00f6z vermi\u015fti. Ve 1949\u2019da her\u015feye ra\u011fmen kendi ya\u015famlar\u0131<br \/>\nhakk\u0131nda s\u00f6z sahibi olabilen erdemli bir kad\u0131n olarak, d\u00fcnyaya veda etti.<br \/>\nMeryem Xan, Ba\u011fdat&#8217;ta \u015eex Maaruf Mezarl\u0131\u011f\u0131&#8217;na defnedildi.<\/p>\n<p class=\" \">Onu yak\u0131ndan tan\u0131yan Mihemed Arif Cizrawi \u015f\u00f6yle der: \u201cMeryem<br \/>\nXan\u2019\u0131n elbiseleri moderndi. Ama ruhu, ya\u015fam\u0131, sanat\u0131 K\u00fcrt\u00e7e\u2019ydi. K\u00fcrt<br \/>\nadetlerine ba\u011fl\u0131yd\u0131. \u015eark\u0131 s\u00f6ylerken i\u00e7ten ve g\u00f6n\u00fclden s\u00f6ylerdi. O an t\u00fcm<br \/>\nbedeni \u015fark\u0131 ile dolard\u0131 .<\/p>\n<p class=\" \">K\u00f6lelik tarihinde kad\u0131n olarak, kendin olarak ya\u015famak<br \/>\nelbetteki zor i\u015fti.
